Online Services User Day, 13 June 2008
The next EPO Online Services User Day will be held at the conference centre of the European Patent Office in the Hague on 13 June 2008.
Based on feedback from our users we have redesigned the format of the User Day to meet the evolving needs of participants.
The morning session includes new modules on Online Filing for both IP support staff (in particular new users) and patent attorneys.
A basic technical workshop on EPO Online Filing has been added to address the needs of users interested in technical aspects relating to installation and support.
Other workshops include hands-on sessions on Online Filing, Online Fee Payment and Online Patent Information Services.
Please click here for more information about the programme.
The deadline for registration is 2 June 2008.

New events strategy launched
The EPO has revised its conference strategy for 2008 and beyond. As a result, there will be no Online Services Conference in 2008. To meet user demand for hands-on training, additional Online Services User Days and Online Filing Training Days will be organised instead.
In a further change, next year´s EPO annual conference, which will be expanded into a broader event covering substantive issues of relevance to patent applicants and attorneys, will be held during the same week as the European Inventor of the Year Award and European Patent Forum in early May 2009.
Keep an eye on our events calendar - we look forward to seeing you at one of our training events!

Online Fee Payment - fee changes from 1 April 2008
The EPO wishes to inform Online Fee Payment users that the following fees will need to be manually updated in April:
- Fee 002 ("Search fee in respect of a European search for applications filed on or after 1 July 2005"). For Euro-PCT applications for which the international search report was drawn up by the Finnish, Austrian, Swedish or Spanish patent office or the Nordic Patent Institute, this fee is reduced by EUR 890, not EUR 845. The correct amount can be entered via the "Edit amounts" tab.
- Fee 015 ("Claims fee for the sixteenth and each subsequent claim"). The current amount erroneously includes fees for the eleventh and each subsequent claim. The correct amount can be entered via the "Edit amounts" tab.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Online Filing software - Important notice
Users of the Online Filing software are now able to download (Download centre) and install an update of the EP fees applicable from 1 April 2008. Those who have activated Live Update will be notified automatically.
Please note that the fees will be updated only for the new EPC 2000 forms (Version 3.20).
Important: templates are not automatically updated
Please note that when you install the fee update your existing templates will not be updated automatically.
If you continue to use your existing templates after you have installed the fee update, the incorrect fees will be applied, even though it states on the form that the most recent fee schedule is being used.
You should therefore ensure that, once you have installed the fee update, you create new templates and delete the old ones.
