EPO Online Services have been designed to allow applicants, attorneys and other users to conduct their business with the European Patent Office electronically in a state-of-the-art secure environment, protected by smart card or username/password access.
With Online Services you can
- prepare patent applications on your PC and submit them online using PatXML and the Online Filing software
- search in the European Patent Register, monitor Register data and look into files using Register Plus, WebRegMT and Online Secure File Inspection
- organise your files, receive communications from the EPO and pay fees using My Files, Mailbox and Online Fee Payment
Update for new fees and procedural changes effective 1 April 2010 - information for Online Filing users
Update expected end of March 2010
The European Patent Office wishes to inform users of its Online Filing software that an update covering the new fees and changes in the European patent procedure which are due to come into force on 1 April 2010 is expected to be available for download by the end of March 2010 (week 12 at the earliest). It will also be available via Live Update.
The update will only be available to users of version 5 of the software. Users who install the update after 1 April 2010 will still be able to file online in the meantime without any negative procedural repercussions.

If so, you may be interested to know that we have introduced a new and more efficient validation mechanism which enables us to check that you have entered the correct EPO deposit account number.

Update including Montenegro as new extension state
An update that includes Montenegro (ME) as an extension state in its own right can now be downloaded for version 5 of the Online Filing software.

User support for Online Filing version 4 to cease as of 1 July 2010
Version 5 of the Online Filing software was launched on 25 January 2010.
User support for version 4 of the Online Filing software will cease on 1 July 2010.

Online Secure File Inspection under review
The Online Secure File Inspection service is currently being reviewed. As a result, users are unable to view unpublished files. As soon as is technically possible, the service will be restored in full. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
