EPO Online Services have been designed to allow applicants, attorneys and other users to conduct their business with the European Patent Office electronically in a state-of-the-art secure environment, protected by smart card or username/password access.

With Online Services you can

  • prepare patent applications on your PC and submit them online using PatXML and the Online Filing software
  • search in the European Patent Register, monitor Register data and look into files using Register Plus, WebRegMT and Online Secure File Inspection
  • organise your files, receive communications from the EPO and pay fees using My Files, Mailbox and Online Fee Payment


1 January 2009 updates for Online Filing V4 now available for download

Online Filing V4 users can now download the 1 January 2009 updates from the Download Centre on this website. Users who have activated the "Live Update" function will be notified automatically.

Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia added to EPO member states in Online Fee Payment

On 1 January 2009 the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia will become the 35th member state of the European Patent Organisation.

Online Fee Payment service users will find Macedonia included in the service in an automatic update scheduled for the first week of January 2009.

Users of the EPO Online Multipay Tool who have not enabled the Live Update function for daily checks will have to perform a manual update via the "Check Now" button.

Users who have activated the "Live Update" function will be notified automatically.

Customer support for Online Filing version 3.20 (release 3.80) and earlier to cease as of 1 April 2009

The EPO would like to inform users that customer support for Online Filing versions 3.20 and earlier will be withdrawn as of 1 April 2009.

Diskette-payers can now pay easily via Online Fee Payment

Users who have so far made batch payments by diskette can now use the new version 3.00 (build 33t) of the EPO Online Multipay Tool for their payments.

This new version allows the conversion of file formats currently accepted by the EPO on diskette into XML format. These XML files can then be sent to the EPO direct using the Online Fee Payment service.

Please note that this update is not required for users already working with the EPO Online Multipay Tool. Future updates will be available for the new version 3.00 (build 33t) and the previously launched version 2.1 (build 28t).

The new version of the EPO Online Multipay Tool can be retrieved from the Download Centre; it will not be available via Live Update.

New Vista-compliant Amyuni PDF converter V.3.0.3 now available for download

Online Filing users can now download the new Amyuni PDF converter from the Download Centre on this website. This new version is fully Microsoft Windows Vista-compliant.

For proper integration with Online Filing V4.00, the 1 July 2008 PCT update (PCT-SAFE build 204) must be installed first.
